Contemporary earthenware platter by noted Oribe artist Tamaoki Yasuo. Yasuo, a sub-chairman of the Mino Ceramic Art Society, was born in Tajimi City in 1941, and studied under master Koubei Kato. This beautiful platter features an asymmetrical shape with swirling shades of pale blue, as well as the traditional Oribe green and off-white glazes. It measures roughly 6 3/4 inches square and stands 1 1/2 inches. It bears Yasuo's signature on the bottom, and is in perfect condition.
